july - september rewind

entered photo contest in june with D's car + one-page story and ended up being published in november's issue . . . nice to do together since i didn't help with the master design/creation ;) storm rolled in right at end of session:


july trip to payson to hang with family . . . couldn't pick 'em because i wasn't wearing the right clothing but definitely ate 'em . . . wild blackberries off the side of the highway where the boys knew to go, and picked for about an hour . . . little H ended up with a stained face and hands and showed me proudly . . . so sweet and nothing fresher

fantastic road trip to CA in early september - santa barbara, huntington beach, santa monica

santa barbara - went to my favorite spots and some new ones too, stayed at east beach and it was nice and quiet and a peaceful 1 mile beach walk to the pier; santa barbara shellfish co for the usual seafood feast, pier time, beach gazing time, stumbled upon a drum circle on my first walk, brown sugar sand, c'est cheese (ewephoria - holland sheep's milk gouda with hint of pineapple; WOW!), santa barbara roco, chocolate maya (crazy unique!), santa barbara mission. C came up for a day/night, rented bikes and cruised all over, went up in courthouse with an excited random tour guide, had cupcakes in the late morning and felt like little kids with a treat, went to a wine tasting, took a nap on the grass overlooking the coast, dinner/walk on state street, breakfast in summerland. such a great vacation and pictured myself living there - just like every other time i have visited SB! being there just makes you need to be outdoors and appreciating every moment ;)

huntington beach - picked up S in l.a., walked around seal beach and then a lovely bbq with friends and kids at C&B's . . . a trip to the crema on the way out of town, of course

santa monica - drove up to l.a., walked near hotel, then ready and off to K&W's wedding . . . perfect afternoon beach weather and outdoor reception, goofy dancing with JB and KK without shoes and laughs with K&W. third st promenade the next day and on to rodeo drive with a coffee from the pretty woman hotel ;) and S's first louis! so fun to see K on his wedding day and of course so happy, and just a R-A-D trip overall!!
