so much to do...

...and plenty of time!!!

saw "rise" with K...was really interesting to learn more about figure-skating's history and such a tragic event that ended up helping others achieve their dreams

B's catholic baptism...had never been to one and was educational, being there for the mass and then seeing the process of baptising a baby...he was quiet and very curious about what was going on throughout the mass...he put his foot on the side of the baptism pool when they started to lean his head backward over it, and we all laughed...it looked like he thought he was going to be dunked and he didn't want to go in!

went to biggest art/craft/food fair i've ever been to nearby with J, K, J...nearly 480 artists and over 200K visitors in three days...really nice art and quality crafts, and unique food and gift items...got some garli garni from this vendor and LOVE IT, plus you can use it so many different ways

car show with my dad and brother including a timed track ride (wheeeeee!!!!!!!)...am always up for seeing the meticulously restored and brightly colored cars plus the feeling of a warp back in time when they were actually on the streets...have always enjoyed walking around with my dad and listening to him explain when the car was made, its special features and history, etc. even though i can never remember any of it later on ;) his car even won an award that day and seeing his face was priceless

hit the annual arts festival with A, B and is always like putting on a comfy pair of pants ;) got to walk around and see most of the artists before it closed...love the rolling grassy areas, trees, flowers and water, and will always be a special place since we grew up going there and my parents got married under a tree there...didn't buy anything but visited with a favorite artist and saw others that A and i had seen before...neat to see the evolution of their art over the years...as my mom taught me, "if you love a piece of art, buy it" because if you don't you may regret it someday and the prices never seem to decrease ;)

had to 'dog it with A, B after finding out about this most RAD event (unbeknownst to us)...fresh 'dogs in a paper tray + cold PBR out of the can = a great night out on the town?? yes, yes, i think it does...especially for girls who have had them in multiple states and love them dearly ;)

yeah for local events and new experiences!!

here and there

flower essences from a farmer's market booth...love them!

reflexology and acupressure points...press for 10-30 seconds and see what happens:
  • spots under collarbone = help clear up a sore throat and anxiety
  • base of skull = ditch itchy eyes and exhaustion
  • outer edge of crease of elbow = decrease tension and congestion
  • halfway down outside of upper arm = fight nausea and clear your head
  • inch below belly button = beat period bloat
  • web between pinkie and ring finger = ease dizziness and back pain
snowy mountains here in feb...could not believe it and have never seen it at this altitude...right in the preserve that i love, about 5 mins from my place...surreal!

chaos theory or the diving bell and the butterfly for entertainment

the island for entertainment sprinkled with some 'what if that ever happened'

collapse to change the way you think about everything...even if you don't agree ;)

girls only

hosted brunch for my lovely ladies in early february...love little parties like these and miss doing them in CA with my other girls ;)

the youngest were invited too, and they had their very own mini-table...it was fun to watch them choose what they wanted and make comments about the food...i hope they felt special and like big girls for a little while

mimosas, rosa regale, brie with caramel sauce and slivered almonds, spinach dip, egg-cheddar quiche, egg-cheddar-sausage quiche, cucumber-dill-cream cheese tea sandwiches, sonoma chicken salad (costco!) mini croissants and fruit salad. found this great recipe for sour cream coffee cake in the silver palate cookbook and it was not too sweet...left the nuts out just in case and highly recommend!

cheers to the girls at what i always enjoy being a girls-only event...the frou-frou, the catching up, the savory and sweet and treating yourself, and the unspoken bonds and love between friends
